Making progress......

 

 

 

......on my many projects.

 

 

Finished at last.   I think I will call this one, "Stars and Winter Berry.  Tomorrow my graphic designer will start on the pattern which shouldn't take very long, because it is not very involved.  This quilt is all needle turned from cotton as that is my first love.  However, it would be wonderful to have the appliqued stars, holly, and berries done in wool for those who are not so fond of applique.

 

 

A close up look.  As you can see it is very scrappy.  I have the kits for this project over half complete.  I should finish them this week.

 

This is the project which I've really been having fun with.  My inspiration came after visiting the quilt study museum in Lincoln, and in an antique quilt which I found in a book of old quilts.  The original was made in the 1800's and was called "The Streets of Boston.  The pieces are appliqued onto a muslin background, leaving a small margin of the muslin showing through.  I think I'd like to call mine, "Many Paths with Many Choices."  I have enjoyed digging through my fabric and through my scraps.  Consequently you should see my sewing room.  It is total chaos!

 

I hope everyone of you enjoyed your week-end.  We here in Utah are excited that our University of Utah football team remains undefeated and have moved up to number 3 in the rankings.  As for me I enjoyed my time sewing and creating, and spending time with family.  It doesn't get much better than that.
