Home again.....

.........but only for a short while and then off again to teach and reconnect with all of my many quilting friends at Bryce Canyon retreat held at Ruby's Inn.  This is a retreat we look forward to with great anticipation every winter.

My trip to California was just super!  Just every little thing about it.  My first visit to The Road to California show was absolutely sensational.  Great vendors and spectacular quilts.  And, my teaching experience at Grand Country Quilters was once again....just the very best!  The ladies in the class are so very warm, kind, and wonderful to spend the day with.  I'll cover more of that later.

My plane arrived early on Wednesday morning in San Diego.  Our first stop was for breakfast where Julie and I split an apple oven pancake......YUM!  Then we dropped by her friend Karen's home.  Karen is an embroidery extraordinaire, plus she has many interesting items from all of her travels.  Karen was willing to share some of her treasures from her lovely home.  She has many winter items out for the season.

Faith, hope, love, the greatest of these is love.

Love is the heart of the home.

I loved this patchy quilt with the embroidery blocks.  I loved everything. A beautiful gracious home.

I will have more to share with you tomorrow.

"Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward;  you can only connect them looking backwards.  So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.  You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.  This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life."  -Steve Jobs

  1. Thanks for the tour of Karen's home. Her stitcheries are gorgeous. Love the old sleigh she used as a shelf for her glassware.

  3. It is very interesting to me that you include the Steve Job quote at the end of your post. Trusting his 'gut' instinct is quite literally what killed him. I wonder how he would feel about saying that now. I guess it really did make all the difference in his life. Just saying....
