This is more like it!

It has been snowing throughout the day, and that is what normally occurs in February.  I'm happy about this turn around in weather, because first of all I enjoy winter, and wouldn't want my tulips to be fooled.

More from our shopping day in the Amana Colonies.

There were all kinds of chickens....

...many were very life like.

There is even a pig hanging out under the chair.

Lovely antique dishes...

......and picnic baskets and all sorts of thrifty goodness.

The basement was chucked full!

There were several interesting cupboards.  Alas, they wouldn't fit in the car.

A wonderful old baby pram.

I recognized this having grown up on a dairy farm.

Something for everyone.

Not certain what this is.

Tucked in the middle of it all was this quilt.

I thought this Birdie Bar delightful!

Lynette Disrud shared this quote.
The Real Work
"It may be that when we no longer know what to do we have come to our real work, and that when we no longer know which way to go, we have come to our real journey.  The mind that is not baffled is not employed.  The impeded stream is the one that sings.
-Wendell Berry

Have a happy hearted week end!

  1. Nice pictures; I think the 16th picture is an Ice Box (fridge without power) where you put the ice in the top section.

  2. Norma, thanks for the trip to yesterday! Is it possible that the piece you didn't recognize is an old ice box?

  3. Your pictures make me wish I could go there. I think the item you couldn't identify might be an old icebox. My uncle used to have one and the hardware is similar. Thanks for sharing.
