What A Week!

The past week was a bit crazy!  Besides being really hot, I mailed my phone in a box of quilts.  I'll blame it on the heat.....that sounds reasonable.  Well, this time my phone arrived safely at Quilters Station in Missouri, and is now on it's way home.  The other time I mailed my phone accidently, it was to Alaska.  By now, you're shaking your head in wonderment, how does a person mail a phone accidently a second time?  I've missed Instagram, but other than that I am not really too attached to my phone.  There was a time when I was a home health nurse, where I was attached, but no longer.  Needless to say it has been a rather quiet week with few interruptions.

I'm spending most of my time making kits.  This past week I made several for The Porch Quilt.  They are not on my web site as the person who tends my web site is on vacation.

Fly Away.....are the kits I am presently cutting, but the process is delayed while I wait for wool to be delivered.

So, that brings me to Flag Day kits.  These have all disappeared out of my stock, so it is time to make a few more of these.  I enjoy working with fabric in general, however...…..

Stitching mends the soul!

I've continued to sew houses.  The quilt is growing.  I have at least 2 more rows of houses to add.  I have decided that I want to put a grouping of houses on the back for all of the houses I've lived in since birth, until present day.  Kind of a bit of my history.

I just do not enjoy cooking like I once did.  However, I did make a Dutch Pancake for breakfast on Sunday...…..and here is the proof!

Presently at the Quilt Study Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska, the War and Pieced quilt collection is on display.  We look forward to stopping by to see it on our drive to Quilter's Station in August.  I will have more quilts from the museum tomorrow.

Love the colors of the first quilt! And I love the sentences finishing all your posts too. Thank you for your blog . Hugs from France

  2. I like your idea of a group of houses on the back of your house quilt. I am thinking of making a house quilt with a cobblestone sash between the rows with all of the addresses we have had during our marriage. Hubby was in the Air Force so there have been a few different ones over 40+ years. A little different life for 2 kids who were raised in the homes their fathers built.

  3. I had to read those first two sentences twice. At first I thought you were saying you mailed your phone in for repairs, but no, you MAILED your phone. I wonder if it rang at any time while it was in transit. Note to me-keep phone away from packages to be mailed.
